Remember December 2, 2012?
Windmill Village residents participated in a protest march to show solidarity against unreasonable lot rents increases which have occurred annually over the last several years, inappropriate transfer of land taxes to residents, and possible fiscal elder abuse.A peaceful but committed group of Windmill Village residents assembled about 1:00 PM in the Windmill Village clubhouse parking lot under sunny skies. The approximately 120 residents brought their signs and their support for the efforts of the WV Homeowners Association to have the park owners amend their policies of unreasonable lot rent increases and inappropriate transfer of land taxes to residents. The mass of residents marched past the clubhouse entrance, along Evergreen Blvd, along Poitras Rd #2, and then reassembled along the side of US Rte. 27. For two hours residents demonstrated their dissatisfaction with the park owner’s fiscal insensitivity to fixed income senior citizens and to the many disabled military veterans who reside in the park.
